In her latest blog post, Carrie chronicles her first adventure on “Roger C. Morley”, her semi-converted camper van and how she has learned to practice mindfulness. On this adventure, Carrie and her family toured parts of rural Quebec – the Traversée de Charlevoix and the Laurentian Mountains near the village of Saint-Urbain. She recounts how she devoured her dinner rapidly and regretted doing so as she did not feel satiated. Afterwards, she decided to slow down and savour every mouthful of her food. She realized that by slowing down, she was in the present. She “felt” satiated.
She will be taking this lesson to heart and aims to fully engage in the opportunities that come her way, learning to embrace what they teach her and to discover new things about the world and about herself.
“What am I missing out on? Am I rushing through life at such a pace that I’ve become unaware of my surroundings…or perhaps more importantly, aware but unwilling to make the time to savour them?” - Carrie
