Quebec Election 2026: Where do the parties stand on arthritis care?

Quebecers vote on October 5. With health care a major election issue, Arthritis Consumer Experts (ACE) is tracking what the five major parties are promising and what those commitments could mean for more than 1.3 million Quebecers living with arthritis.

Today, ACE launched a new Quebec Election 2026 healthcare commitment matrix as part of our Vote for Arthritis campaign. The matrix compares party platforms and healthcare announcements with ACE's five priorities for improving arthritis care:

  1. Earlier diagnosis and access to rheumatologists and multidisciplinary care
  2. Access to evidence-based arthritis medications
  3. Shorter waits for joint replacement surgery and rehabilitation
  4. Equitable access to arthritis care across Quebec
  5. Public reporting and accountability for access and outcomes

The matrix shows where party commitments align with these priorities and where gaps remain.

Parties have proposed changes to primary care, the healthcare workforce, prevention and surgical wait times. Some proposals could also improve access for people outside Quebec's major urban centres.

ACE will update the matrix as new platforms and healthcare commitments are published or announced during the campaign.

We encourage people living with arthritis to use the matrix when talking with candidates. Ask where they stand on the five priorities. Tell them where you have experienced barriers to care. Ask what they will do about them.
