What Canadians with arthritis think about artificial intelligence in health care

Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the way health care is delivered across Canada. From reading x-rays and predicting arthritis flares to matching patients with the right treatment faster, AI tools are moving from research labs into clinics and, increasingly, into patients’ hands. But what do people living with arthritis think about these technologies?

To find out, Arthritis Consumer Experts (ACE) conducted the first-ever patient-led National Survey on AI and Arthritis Care in Canada. The results are now available in a special issue of JointHealth™ insight.

Inside this issue

  • Why AI in arthritis care matters
  • Who responded
  • Key Survey findings
  • What the Survey results mean for arthritis care in Canada
  • Implications for key stakeholders

 Why this matters

Artificial intelligence will dramatically continue to change arthritis care over the next five years. Read the report to learn more about how people with arthritis are open to the use of AI in arthritis care, but only if it is done with transparency, fairness, and human oversight.
