In her latest blog post, Carrie shares her thoughts on the journey to disclosing her rheumatoid arthritis – her “coming out story”. For her, it was a matter of choosing the right time and place to disclose about her RA. After disclosing that she has RA, it was important for her to continue work and participating in activities with friends and family. She does not want to be defined by her illness. Carrie concludes by sharing how integral community is in her life – community is what holds her up when she does not have the strength to do so on her own.
